Privacy Policy

Institute of Insurance and Risk Management (IIRM) recognizes and respects the individual’s privacy and the security of Personal Information (PI) and is committed to protecting it throughout by complying with this Privacy Policy (Policy). The Institute does not intend to sell, swap, rent, or otherwise disclose for commercial purposes, outside the scope of ordinary Institute functions, your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other biometric information you provide. However, though the Institute will not disclose any personal information to any third parties, IIRM cannot guarantee that this information will be secure in the case of loss or theft.

Policy Background:

The Policy describes the types of information, source of information, terms and disclosure of information in certain cases. IIRM will collect the information through lawful and fair means only.

IIRM may collect your personal information such as but not limited to bank details and passport details to help you further with student exchange program which includes services like Recommendation Letters, student visa and applications to Institute programs.

IIRM may collect Personal Sensitive Information using Biometric-induced technologies as the information is necessary for conducting the Institute functions.

IIRM may process your personal information for the following:

  1. Informing about the latest developments of the college and courses.
  2. To prevent, detect, investigate and prosecute offences and also identity verification.

IIRM collects the following information:

  1. Personal information includes information through which you may be personally identified such as name, addresses, email IDs, IP address, phone numbers, education, employment history, etc.
  2. Non-Personal Information includes browser information, operating system information, pages accessed, referring websites, applications. This information alone cannot be used to identify the individual.
  3. Sensitive Information such as financial information (collected for student exchange programs, etc.), Biometrics (collected for using IIRM facilities) and psychological information (which is only with the Student Wellness Centre Officer and no other official).

Methods of Collecting Information:

  1. Information is collected when the individual creates a user account or submits any online applications and forms to IIRM.
  2. Information is automatically collected when the individual uses any IIRM services. Information such as IP address, profile information, aggregate user data; preferences; technical session information; browser type; information about your computer, hardware, software, or mobile device, including a device identifier; demographic information including zip code; and navigational data including log files, server logs, clickstream data, and language preference. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring and for providing services. If you arrived at IIRM website via a link from another webpage, IIRM may receive aggregate or otherwise anonymous statistical information about your visit to IIRM site. IIRM monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design of the site, and to improve the content of IIRM website to better match the interests of IIRM website users. IIRM may combine this automatically collected and other Non-Personal Information with Personal Information, in which case IIRM will treat the combined information as Personal Information under this Privacy Policy.

IIRM may use the information collected for the improvement of IIRM website and services, provide customer support and provide any other services to you.

YOUR legal right:

Anytime during the process of using the services of IIRM, you feel the necessity of verifying the accuracy of such information collected by the Institute, one can consult with IIRM and receive a copy thereof. You have the right to correct, update or erase such data held by IIRM. The request for the case in point, such as blocking of any data, requests should be sent to us by email at administration@theiirm.ac.in. IIRM shall retain information as long as the individual’s account is active, to provide you the desired services and to maintain a record for financial reporting purposes.

Disclosure:

IIRM may disclose your information to comply with any law, court order or legal process and when IIRM believes disclosure of such information is necessary to protect the rights or safety of IIRM.

IIRM reserves the right to update this Policy from time to time. IIRM will notify you of any changes and/or modifications to the Policy by updating the “Last Modified” date on this Policy, sending an electronic communication detailing the changes, posting a notification on the Services, or as required by law. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Policy on IIRM’s Services. You are encouraged to periodically review this Policy to stay informed of updates. YOUR continued use of IIRM’s Services after receipt of such revised Policy will be deemed an acceptance of the revised Policy.
